UK 2017: Three days in Bristol
2017
I was invited to visit Bristol during the annual Hot Air Balloon festival by a colleague who had recently moved there. The wind conditions meant that the balloons only took flight on the evening of the last day, but it didn't spoil discovering a vibrant city filled with industrial history and a bustling art scene. I was still suffering from a back injury which restricted my mobility at the time, and as I look back on these image now I have an urge to go back and walk around and photograph it in the way I wasn't able to at the time.
Morocco 2025: Ait Ben Haddou
2025
The description of Aït Benhaddou and in particular it's ksar features many words that are magic to my ears; "UNESCO World Heritage Site", "Indiana Jones shooting location"
UK 2024: A winter morning in Greenwich
2024
A dull but crisp morning walk around Greenwich Market a few days before Christmas. I knew there would be Christmas lights all over so shot with a star filter. I'm still not sure that was the right call, but it's good to try something different occasionally.
Italy 2018: Rome - The Colosseum and Forum
2018
Another of those places where it felt surreal to walk the pathways of a place I'd seen in everything from Asterix graphic novels as a kid, to movies via many history books. Every footstep, a connection to the past. I visited on a bright but changeable February morning and the queues were still deep. I cannot imagine how busy it must be at the height of summer.
Vatican City 2018: The Vatican
2018
Another of those places that has to be seen with your own eyes. Every nook and cranny is filled with detail that even a gallery of a thousand photographs could not hope to capture. So many moments where you turn a corner and say 'hang on that's a...'

UK 2016: Falconry
2016
This was a fun one. I've always had a fascination with birds of prey and when visiting an old schoolfriend in England, was delighted to find there was a sanctuary nearby where you could arrange to meet some of their residents face-to-face. A decade later, buzzards and kestrels are now a common sight on the coasts here in Guernsey as they hunt and breed here.
Morocco 2010: Dinner in the Jemaa El-Fnaa
2010
By day the Jemaa el-Fnaa is a bustling market with traders, and entertainers seeing a coin or two from the visitors. By night it transforms into a huge open air food court. Brightly lit against the night, with a myriad of scents from the cooking meats and spices.
Lithuania 2018: Plokstine Cold War Museum
2018
A Soviet era Nuclear Missile base with four silos buried deep in the woods in a quiet part of Lithuania. Now converted into a museum. Frankly this place left me with a haunted feeling, knowing within half an hour of a call destruction could be sent to one of many targets. Seeing these marked upon maps still on display somehow made it even more real.
